Dear all,

 

This e-mail may come as a surprise. It has no specific objective, except that I want to encourage you to work even more actively for our people than before and try to work together with other Aramaic (Syriac) organizations.

 

Following the news and latest developments, it is regrettable that we are still not using all our resources and strength. And because of that, we daily miss so many chances. Whether it concerns the Turkey-EU negotiations from which lots of projects evolve, the recent elections in Lebanon, the positioning of our people in Iraq, or the many possibilities we have in the different Diaspora countries, such as the recently missed chance to install an Aramean from Sweden (Metin Hawsho) in the EU...I think we (all of us) are not using our energy and forces effeciently enough in these and related issues. 

 

With the Syriac Universal Alliance (SUA) we have tried to work hard in the recent 8,5 months and we will continue to do so. We still have too few active persons, though, who work on and deal with the many questions of our people that we must pick up, if we want to be taken seriously as a governmental organization. We are working on expanding our team in the coming months.

 

But if all of us -- dedicated Aramean activists, clergymen, scholars, politicians, writers, singers etc. -- support each other 110% in any possible way; if we communicate with each other as much as we can; and if we cooperate with each other with all our heart and soul, I believe we can and will achieve the success we all wish for!

 

After the summer, SUA will try to speed up things and contact all of you about activities we must work on TOGETHER. It is high time for an Aramean awareness campaign considering the worrying lack of knowledge among our people, especially the younger generations, regarding our history (ancient and modern) and language. Also for a revival of alllll our Aramaic organizations whom WE must reactivate -- the sooner the better.

 

Therefore, we must wake up and stand up TOGETHER, and show the world our true strength if only we put our full energy and resources in that what we want to achieve. I believe that if we do this, nobody will be able to stop us.
